From the basics to advanced skills, take the time to learn how to properly menipulate a shotgun. Wheather you are using it for home protection or sport shooting, we teach you how to do it safely. When it comes to home safety, we are our familie's first line of defense. Give yourself a chance to learn the basic skills necessary to safely utilize your shotgun indoors for self defense, out of fear for your life or someone els's.
Learning the skills necessary for shooting sporting clays or hunting isn't an ability that you can learn overnight. With training and practice, you will learn how to track and splash some sporting clays. The feeling that you receive after hitting and splashing your first clay bird is exhillarating! So push yourself and learn a new skill and find yourself enjoying a new sport.
This beginning shotgun course teaches new students about shotgun safety, shotgun operation, ammunition selection, fundamentals of shotgun accuracy, proper standing position, cleaning, storage and much more. This course of instruction also includes a round of Trap Shooting. Having new shotgun students shooting a full round of Trap on the first day is very beneficial. Students learn to focus on the moving target (clay bird) and not on the recoil of the shotgun. Trap fees and a box of shells are INCLUDED in the course fees.
The Advanced shotgun course is conducted on the Trap field with an Expert Trap shooting coach. All students will learn to properly track and shoot moving targets (clay bird).
Requirements:
Students must be 18 years of age or older and must have successfully completed our Basic Firearms Handgun Course before taking this next level course. Students will be required to demonstrate basic firearms safety, marksmanship, and competence in loading and unloading a firearm. The course is a total of 6 hours.
All trap shooters must have either an ammunition belt, shell pouch, or use the pockets in their shooting vest for shot shells.
Retrieving shells from a shell box on the ground is never allowed.
Buckshot and magnum shot shells are not allowed on the trap range.
Only Target Loads with shot sizes of 7 1/2, 8 & 9 are permitted on the Trap Range.
Anyone shooting any other load will be asked to leave the range.
Materials Required:
Provide your own personal shotgun (unless you plan to rent a firearm)
Shotgun Training & Rental: $375 (comes with 2 boxes of shells)
3 - 4 boxes of slugs
2 boxes of 7 1/2 or #8 bird shot shells minimum
Long pants, or shorts

Please remember to safely, securely, and legally transport your firearm. You must be a citizen of the United States or have permanent legal alien status and show a valid driver’s license or other valid photo identification to use a firearm in connection with any Services provided under this Agreement. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed on the range.
